The Minister of Works, David Umahi, and the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Community Engagement (South-East), Chioma Nweze, have expressed strong support for the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, citing his administration’s achievements in infrastructure, economic reforms and regional inclusion.

Speaking during the APC presidential primary election in Ohaozara Local Government Area of Ebonyi State, Umahi said the large turnout of party members demonstrated the confidence Nigerians, particularly Ebonyi residents, have in Tinubu’s leadership.

The minister expressed optimism that the President would effectively address the country’s security challenges within the next five years if given another mandate in the 2027 general election.

Umahi described Ebonyi State as a stronghold of the ruling All Progressives Congress and attributed the support for Tinubu to ongoing infrastructure projects and federal appointments that have benefited the South-East region.

He also defended the administration’s economic reforms, arguing that although they initially posed challenges, they have helped stabilize the economy and laid the foundation for long-term growth.

The minister further pointed to ongoing federal road and bridge projects across the country as evidence of the government’s commitment to rebuilding critical infrastructure and improving connectivity.

On her part, Nweze commended Tinubu for investments in roads, bridges, healthcare, education and security infrastructure, which she said were already improving living conditions across communities in the South-East.

She highlighted projects such as new healthcare facilities, schools, solar-powered highway lighting and planned flyover constructions, noting that they have enhanced development and strengthened the region’s sense of belonging in national affairs.

Nweze urged continued support for the Tinubu administration, expressing confidence that ongoing projects, educational support programmes and economic reforms would deliver greater benefits to Nigerians and further accelerate development in the South-East.
