Leaders of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) were reportedly denied access to former Kaduna State Governor, Nasir El-Rufai, during a visit to the office of the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission on Friday.
Among those said to have been prevented from seeing El-Rufai were the ADC National Secretary, Rauf Aregbesola; the party’s National Publicity Secretary, Bolaji Abdullahi; and the Secretary of the ADC Manifesto and Policy Committee, Salihu Lukman.
The incident was disclosed by Abdullahi in a post, where he stated that the party officials were denied access to El-Rufai during their visit to the anti-corruption agency’s office.

As of the time of filing this report, details surrounding the reported restriction remained unclear. However, the development has stirred reactions within opposition circles, with supporters of the party raising concerns over the circumstances surrounding the denial of access.
Party sources said the ADC delegation visited the ICPC office to show solidarity with El-Rufai, who has recently drawn political attention over his involvement in opposition political engagements ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Neither the ICPC nor aides to El-Rufai had issued an official statement on the matter at press time.
Political observers say the incident could further intensify political tensions amid ongoing alignments and consultations among opposition parties and prominent political figures.
The ADC leadership has yet to indicate whether it will issue an official response or take further action regarding the reported development.
