Akwa Ibom State Commissioner for trade and investment, Capt Iniobong Ekong (rtd) has been named as the director of security and intelligence on the membership list of The Game Changer Group(TGCG).

The group, which is widely seen as a boost to grassroots political mobilisation in Nigeria, has Alhaji Bolaji Raji as the convener and national director general.

Ekong famed the group as the fastest growing national movement focused on citizen engagement and strategic political communication.

According to him, the group was fast expanding its footprint across the country, operating a robust and well-structured network that spans all states, local government areas, wards, and polling units. He mentioned that the organisation has coordinators in all the states of the Federation and also across the six geopolitical zones of the country.

The group is driven by a vision to massively canvas grassroots support and build a people-oriented movement capable of delivering support for President Bola Tinubu’s second term ambition.

The National Secretary of the group is Dr. Ibrahim Dauda, who will oversee the coordination and institutional processes that would sustain the organisation’s nationwide operations.

Adding to its profile, TGCG boasts the involvement of notable national figures, including two former governors, Obong Victor Attah and Mohammed Abubakar, who serve as National Chairmen of the National Council of Leaders and the National Council of Patrons respectively, further strengthening the group’s leadership depth and credibility.

The inclusion of Ekong is widely regarded as a strategic move, given his proven track records in security administration, governance, community mobilisation, and grassroots engagement.

Ekong is expected to bring his vast experience and rich network of contacts to enhance the organisation’s outreach and deepen its operational capacity in security and intelligence.

Known for his active involvement in security management, grassroots politics, and community development initiatives, Ekong would bring valuable experience in national and local-level coordination, aligning with TGCG’s mission of ensuring a conducive, peaceful and secured environment for the government and the citizens to interface in the deepening of democracy in the country.
