He noted that the distribution of the vehicles forms part of a broader strategy to enhance security operations across the state’s 13 local government areas and improve rapid response to emergencies and security threats.
According to the governor, his administration has continued to invest significantly in security infrastructure, including the acquisition of modern surveillance technology such as drones and other digital security equipment to aid law enforcement agencies in tracking criminal activities.
“We have committed enormous resources to procuring security equipment and operational vehicles because protecting lives and property remains the primary responsibility of government,” Nwifuru stated.
The governor expressed satisfaction with the relative peace currently enjoyed in the state, attributing the achievement to the collaboration among security agencies and the support of residents.
He commended the efforts of the Nigeria Police Force, Nigerian Army, Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, Nigeria Immigration Service, Nigeria Customs Service, National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, Nigerian Correctional Service, and the Federal Road Safety Corps for their collective role in maintaining security.
Reflecting on his assumption of office in May 2023, Nwifuru recalled that the state faced significant security challenges but noted that remarkable improvements had been recorded through coordinated security efforts and community cooperation.
He also applauded security personnel who earned promotions while serving in the state, describing the advancement as recognition of their dedication and exemplary service.
As political activities begin to intensify ahead of future elections, the governor urged security operatives to remain professional, impartial, and committed to their constitutional responsibilities.
“This is a political season, and allegations will emerge from different quarters. I urge you to remain focused on the facts and continue to perform your duties without fear or favour,” he advised.
Nwifuru further appreciated the people of Ebonyi State, particularly the youth, for supporting government initiatives and cooperating with security agencies in sustaining peace and development.
The event concluded with the commissioning and deployment of the 31 operational vehicles to various security agencies across the state.
