The coaches will be responsible for designing and implementing training programmes, improving players’ technical and tactical skills, conducting performance analysis and preparing athletes for local and international tournaments.

BFN noted that the positions go beyond technical coaching, stressing that national coaches must also serve as mentors, disciplinarians and role models capable of instilling professionalism, resilience and confidence in athletes.

The federation added that successful applicants would be expected to maintain a safe and conducive training environment, promote sportsmanship and ethical conduct, keep accurate performance records and contribute to the development of emerging coaches across the country.

To qualify for the positions, applicants must possess coaching certifications recognised by the Badminton World Federation (BWF), the Badminton Confederation Africa (BCA) or a higher qualification.

Candidates must also have represented Nigeria or a state at national badminton competitions, while previous coaching experience at either level will be considered an added advantage.

Other requirements include computer literacy, strong communication and mentoring skills, analytical ability, planning competence, flexibility and adherence to professional ethics. Applicants must not be older than 55 years at the time of application.

Interested and qualified candidates are required to submit their curriculum vitae and written applications via email to info@badmintonnigeria.org.

The application process will close on June 30, 2026.

BFN said the recruitment exercise underscores its commitment to building a stronger coaching structure that will nurture talent, improve performance and advance the growth of badminton in Nigeria and beyond.
