A 73-year-old Prince of the Benin Kingdom, Prince God’s Will Ogieigho Eweka, has declared that Nigeria will reclaim her place of honour, prophesying that “the Egyptians we see now, we shall see them no more.”
The Benin royal prince made the prediction on Sunday during his 73rd birthday celebration, where he addressed the current hardship facing Nigerians and the country’s political future.
Prince Eweka, a retired teacher and frontline politician, said Nigerians are passing through hardship and the unbearable consequences of rising fuel prices. He however assured that those behind what he described as “nefarious activities” and the pains inflicted on citizens would give way for a true democratic process.

“In all of these, God has assured us that the Egyptians we see now, we shall see them no more,” he said. “It translates to the fact that there will be respite soon.”
Turning to the 2027 general elections, Prince Eweka expressed concern that opposition parties were not doing enough to convince Nigerians of their readiness to govern.
“On 2027, the opposition parties are not doing enough for Nigerians to see their readiness. Instead, they are creating clear subterfuge and seemingly pontificating,” he said.
Despite his criticism, the Benin prince expressed faith that divine intervention would address the challenges confronting the nation.
“We are sure that God will always step into the challenges Nigerians are absolutely facing at the moment,” he added.
Prince Eweka is a respected figure in the Benin Kingdom, known for his decades of service as an educator and his active role in Edo politics.
