The Minister of Works, David Umahi, has directed the contractor handling the Abuja–Kaduna–Kano Road rehabilitation project, Infiouest Nigeria Limited, to immediately open all sections of the highway to facilitate the smooth movement of travelers during the forthcoming Eid al-Adha celebrations.

According to a statement issued on Sunday by the Minister’s Senior Special Assistant on Media, Francis Nwaze, the directive is aimed at reducing traffic congestion and ensuring safer travel for commuters using the busy federal highway during the festive period.

The Minister also confirmed that an earlier accident recorded along the route has been completely cleared, restoring normal traffic flow on the affected section of the road.

To further guarantee the safety of motorists and other road users, security personnel have been deployed to strategic locations along the corridor to maintain law and order throughout the holiday season.

Umahi urged motorists to adhere to traffic regulations, exercise caution while driving, and cooperate with security operatives and traffic management officials to ensure a hitch-free celebration.

The Abuja–Kaduna–Kano Road remains one of Nigeria’s most critical transport corridors, linking the Federal Capital Territory with several states in the northern region and serving as a major route for commercial and passenger traffic.
