For one man, heartbreak in 2018 was more than the end of a relationship.
It felt like the collapse of a future he had already imagined.
The woman he had hoped to marry suddenly walked away and gave him a painful message: “I’m not marrying you again.”
The rejection left him deeply wounded.
“I felt like I had been nailed to a cross,” he recalled.
Rather than immediately opening his heart to another relationship, he made what he thought was a final decision.
He told God he was done with marriage.
“I’m married to Jesus now. Sisters, please leave me alone,” he said in a testimony shared by Pastor Nathaniel Bassey.
But life had another chapter waiting for him.
The woman he never approached
One day, he went to minister at an event.
There, he noticed a woman serving as the head of protocol, helping to coordinate activities for the visiting minister.
Because of the pain of his previous relationship, he deliberately kept his distance.
He did not ask for her phone number.
He did not approach her.
He simply went home.
But according to his testimony, something changed as he continued praying and fellowshipping with the Holy Spirit.
The woman’s face repeatedly came to his heart.
Still cautious, he chose not to approach her directly.
Instead, he contacted her pastor.
“Pastor, as I pray, this lady in your church keeps coming up in my spirit,” he reportedly told him.
The pastor described her as a wonderful woman and mentioned that she was doing an internship with a major company.
Then came the detail that immediately triggered his old wound.
The company was the same place where the woman who had previously broken his heart worked.
His reaction was immediate.
“Lord, no! I reject that connection!”
When the past tried to speak
For him, the coincidence was difficult to ignore.
The same company.
Another woman.
Another possible relationship.
But this time, he believed God was asking him to confront the fear created by his past rather than allow that experience to determine his future.
The woman’s pastor, described in the testimony as a strict man, eventually summoned her for a meeting.
Until then, the two had never spoken.
He had not called her.
He had not approached her.
According to the testimony, the matter had remained between him, his prayers and what he believed was spiritual conviction.
Then came the question that changed everything.
The pastor asked the woman:
“Do you know why I sent for you?”
“Yes, sir,” she replied.
“Why do you think I called you? Did he call you?”
“No, sir,” she answered.
Then she reportedly revealed something unexpected.
She said she believed the Lord was telling her that the man was her husband.
Two people, one unexpected conviction
The striking part of the story was not simply that the relationship eventually developed.
It was that, according to the testimony, neither person had approached the other before they separately reached the same conviction.
For the man, the experience became a lesson about healing from heartbreak.
The pain of 2018 had convinced him to close the door on marriage.
Yet years later, another possibility appeared in a place that initially reminded him of the very experience that had wounded him.
His story, as he told it, became a reminder that past disappointment does not necessarily have to determine what comes next.
Sometimes, the thing people fear repeating can become the very place where they confront that fear.
And sometimes, after heartbreak, healing begins when a person stops allowing yesterday’s pain to write tomorrow’s story.
The testimony was delivered by Pastor Nathaniel Bassey and circulated by the Remnant Priest and Kingdom Channel platforms.
