Renowned cleric and founder of Champions Royal Assembly, Prophet Joshua Iginla, has publicly disclosed long-standing challenges in his marriage, revealing deeply personal issues that he says ultimately led to the breakdown of his union.
In an emotional confession shared publicly, the prophet recounted that before marriage, he and his wife conducted genotype tests and confirmed he was AA while she was AS. However, following the birth of their daughter, medical results reportedly showed the child was SS, a development he described as a major shock that triggered the first serious strain in their marriage.
According to Iginla, despite the confusion and emotional turmoil surrounding the situation, he chose to stay in the marriage and embrace the child, noting that he deliberately avoided divorce, even though he believed he had “scriptural backing,” in order to protect his family and avoid public scandal.
He further alleged that additional issues later emerged, including the introduction of what he described as “an unholy child” into the marriage, a situation that led to repeated conflicts and family interventions. The prophet said these matters were repeatedly covered up in a bid to preserve the marriage, stressing that many of the crises could have been avoided if early warnings had been heeded.
Admitting his own wrongdoing, Prophet Iginla also confessed to fathering a child outside wedlock, an act he acknowledged worsened the already fragile situation. He stated that the growing crisis was exploited by some religious leaders and even individuals under his authority, compounding the pressure on his family and ministry.
“For seven years, I tried to stabilize the vehicle, but it hasn’t been possible,” he said, taking responsibility for his actions and asking the public to place the blame on him.
The cleric explained that his decision to go public was prompted by what he described as his wife’s refusal to resolve the matter privately, despite his pleas. He said he had warned that making the issues public would mark the end of the marriage, as mutual protection and discretion were no longer present.
“I covered her during her time, but when mine came, she threw me to the wall,” he said, adding that the public exposure has been deeply painful and humiliating.
Prophet Iginla concluded his statement by formally announcing the end of the marriage and appealing to the public for prayers rather than judgment.
“Please pray for us if you love us,” he said.
The revelation has since sparked widespread reactions across social media, with many calling for compassion, prayer, and restraint as the family navigates the aftermath of the disclosure.
