Police probe NSCDC officers over Peresoudei’s death in BayelsaThe Bayelsa State Police Command has intensified investigation into the death of Patrick Peresoudei with the interrogation of four personnel of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) allegedly linked to the incident.

The Police said the NSCDC personnel are being questioned over allegations that they accompanied one Bodmas Kemepadei to Amassoma Community, where Peresoudei was arrested and later taken to Kemepadei’s residence in Yenagoa before his death.

A statement issued by the Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Musa Mohammed, disclosed that the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) is also interrogating the investigating team attached to Operation Restore Peace, also known as Operation Puff Adder.

According to the statement, the Police remain committed to a thorough, impartial and transparent investigation to establish the circumstances surrounding the death.

“All suspects alleged to have been involved will be thoroughly investigated and prosecuted in accordance with the law if found culpable,” the statement said.

The Command also confirmed that its intelligence network has been activated to track and arrest the prime suspect, Bodmas Kemepadei, who is currently at large.

The Commissioner of Police, Bayelsa State Command, CP Iyamah Daniel, appealed to members of the public to support the investigation by volunteering useful information that could assist the Police in ensuring justice is served.
