The Presiding Bishop of Living Faith Church Worldwide, Dr David Oyedepo, has reaffirmed his prophetic calling, stating that divine assignments do not require human validation. He made the declaration during a powerful session at Shiloh 2025, the church’s annual global spiritual gathering.
Addressing thousands of worshippers at the Faith Tabernacle, Canaanland, Bishop Oyedepo recounted a personal moment of inquiry with God early in his ministry. According to him, he once asked the Lord what he needed to do for people to believe that he was truly sent as a prophet.
“God told me, Nothing. You don’t have to do anything,” the Bishop said, drawing resounding reactions from the congregation.
Emphasising the sovereignty of divine calling, Oyedepo noted that faith is a personal responsibility and not something to be enforced or negotiated. In a light-hearted but profound remark that sparked laughter across the auditorium, he added, “If you believe me, it’s your cup of tea. If you don’t believe me, it’s your cup of coffee.”
He stressed that acceptance or rejection by people neither adds to nor subtracts from God’s mandate upon a man’s life. “Your belief or unbelief does not validate His calling,” he declared, underscoring the central message of unwavering obedience to divine instruction.
The statement aligns with the theme of Shiloh 2025, “Breaking New Grounds,” which focuses on spiritual growth, faith-driven advancement and total reliance on God’s agenda rather than human applause.
Shiloh, an annual gathering that attracts millions of participants both physically and online from across the world, continues to serve as a platform for prophetic teachings, prayers and declarations aimed at transforming lives and nations.
Bishop Oyedepo’s message has since generated widespread reactions on social media, with many describing it as a reminder of faith, conviction and the independence of divine purpose from public opinion.
