NUJ mourns Bayelsa Deputy Governor Lawrence Ewhrudjakpo’s suddenThe Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Bayelsa State Council, has expressed deep sorrow over the sudden death of the Deputy Governor of Bayelsa State, Senator Lawrence Ewhrudjakpo.

 

In a condolence message, the Council extended its heartfelt sympathies to the Governor of Bayelsa State, Senator Douye Diri, the Ewhrudjakpo family, and the Ofoni Federated Community in Sagbama Local Government Area.

 

A statement signed by the State Council Chairman, Comrade Tonye Yemoleigha, described the passing of the Deputy Governor as a rude shock to the entire NUJ family in the state.

 

Speaking on behalf of the State Working Committee and the State Executive Council, Comrade Yemoleigha described the late Senator Ewhrudjakpo as a rare and exceptional leader who dedicated his life to public service, demonstrated uncommon loyalty, and made remarkable contributions to the growth and development of Bayelsa State through his wealth of knowledge and strong managerial skills.

 

The statement recalled the cordial and productive working relationship that existed between the late Deputy Governor and the NUJ Bayelsa State Council, noting that his absence would be deeply felt.

 

The NUJ further urged Governor Douye Diri, the immediate family of the deceased, and the people of Bayelsa State to find comfort in God, acknowledging that He alone gives and takes life.
