East Communities Laud Deputy Speaker Madaki for Transformative Projects

JOS – Over 25 interconnected communities in Jos East Local Government Area of Plateau State have showered praise on the Deputy Speaker of the Plateau State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Isa Ajiji Madaki, for delivering impactful projects within his first two years in office.

The commendations, expressed during a community gathering in Jos East, highlighted Madaki’s strategic interventions aimed at bridging infrastructural gaps in rural settlements. Chief among these is the installation of 11 MTN network boosters, with four newly added to enhance connectivity across remote villages. These boosters now link vital areas, fostering communication reliability amid ongoing security challenges.

Rt. Hon. Madaki, representing Jos East, emphasized the boosters’ critical role. “These installations are main for ensuring communication reliability amidst current security tensions targeting vulnerable isolated communities,” he stated.

“They will also boost social and commercial activities for people in rural settlements, empowering our people to thrive.

“The boosted areas span multiple districts:Federe district: Federe Market, Nabar Dutse, and Koriming.Fobur district: Fadan Fobur and Boda.Fursum district: Fewit, Fusa, and Bayan Dutse.Megemu district: Kayarda.Shere district: Shere ECAN and Gwash II.Community leaders described the projects as game-changers. “Before now, our villages were cut off, making it hard to report insecurity or conduct business,” said Malam Yusuf Garba, a representative from Federe Market.

“With these boosters, we can now alert authorities swiftly and connect with markets in Jos.

“The initiatives align with broader efforts to promote peace and development in Plateau State, where isolated communities often face communication blackouts during conflicts.

Madaki’s projects also include road grading and solar-powered boreholes, though the network expansion stole the spotlight for its immediate security and economic ripple effects.

Residents urged sustained collaboration between lawmakers and telecom firms. “This is leadership at its best—practical and people-centered,” added Elder Hannah Dung of Shere district.Madaki, a first-term lawmaker, credited community feedback for guiding his priorities.

As Jos East integrates further into the digital economy, these boosters promise to unlock potentials in agriculture, trade, and emergency response.

The event underscored growing optimism, with calls for similar interventions statewide. Plateau Assembly remains committed to such rural empowerment, Madaki affirmed.
