PDP Expels Wike, Fayose, Anyanwu, Others for Anti-Party Activities at 2025 National ConventionThe Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has taken sweeping disciplinary action against some of its most prominent figures, expelling former Rivers State Governor Nyesom Wike, former Ekiti State Governor Ayo Fayose, Senator Samuel Anyanwu, Kamaldeen Ajibade (SAN), Hon. Austin Nwachukwu, and several others for alleged anti-party activities.

The decisive move was announced on Saturday during the party’s 2025 National Convention holding in Ibadan, Oyo State. The expulsion, which was ratified by an overwhelming majority of delegates, marks one of the boldest steps taken by the PDP in recent years to reposition itself ahead of the 2027 general elections.

According to party officials, the affected members were found to have engaged in actions considered detrimental to the unity, electoral prospects, and internal cohesion of the PDP. The National Disciplinary Committee had reportedly reviewed petitions, audio-visual evidence, and testimonies linking the individuals to activities that undermined party candidates during past elections.

Addressing delegates, Acting National Chairman of the party, [insert chair name if needed], said the decision was necessary to “restore discipline, rebuild trust, and chart a fresh path that aligns with the collective aspiration of our members nationwide.”

He emphasized that no individual, regardless of political status, would be allowed to weaken the party’s structures or sabotage its future.
“Our resolve is clear—only loyalty, integrity, and commitment to the PDP will be tolerated,” he declared.

Reactions among party faithful at the convention hall were mixed, with many hailing the decision as long overdue, while a few expressed concern over its possible impact on reconciliation efforts.

The expelled members are yet to issue official statements regarding the development.

The convention continues with deliberations on restructuring party organs, adopting key resolutions, and unveiling strategic plans aimed at reclaiming power in 2027.
