The people of Ishielu local government area of Ebonyi state Monday staged a 1 Million man march in support of President Ahmed Tinubu and Governor Francis Nwifuru’s second term bid.
The people who came out in their numbers trekked from Eziulo junction to the Local government council headquarters in appreciation of the developmental strides by the President and the state Governor in the area.
While they were received by the council chairman,Mrs. Peace Agwu, they called on President Tinubu and Governor Nwifuru to present themselves for the second time in Office.
Speaking in their turns, Mr. Uchenna Agwu, coordinator of Peace team Agwu support urged the local government chairman to appeal to Governor Nwifuru to re-contest his position come 2027 general election.
“We the people of Ishielu want you to tell the governor that we are pleading with him to come back for the second tenure. we are at peace with his first tenure, he has done well in this first tenure,he should continue.
“We also want President Bola Tinubu to come back for the second time and you our amiable Chairman to return and complete what you have started.
Also the All Progressive Congress (APC) Chair, Ishielu local government, Okechukwu Abbah said the rally was to endorse President Tinubu and to let the world know that “government of APC is good to Nigerian”.
Speaking to journalists shortly after receiving the people, the local government chairman, Mrs Agwu expressed satisfaction with the movement and highlighted some of the achievements of the Federal and State government across the area.
She said, “today,I experienced massive love from my people. The movement I was not aware as a council chairman,but they came out en mass to endorse Our president,Bola Tinubu for second term,equally endorse Our governor Rt. Honorable Francis Nwifuru because of the works they are doing in our states particularly in Ishielu.
“His Excellency,the governor of Ebonyi states have done wonderfully well, especially in Ishielu local government, he has done 23 kilometer roads,Ezza- Eziulo-iyonu-Ezzaegu road that has bring permanent peace in to our people. Likewise, in all the ward,he also construction initiated 2 kilometer road.Each of the traditional now have modern duples.So he also has constructed 144 bungalows in Ishielu,Amaeze community and Izzo community just to mention but a few that is the reason why they came out en mass to support him and to move the motion that they are adopting him again for the second term.
The President however did not leave us behind in the road construction, as you can see the construction of the double lane has given a facial uplift to the Local government headquarters. He is also doing well in many quarters which my people are benefiting from”.
