The Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN), Bayelsa State Chapter, has congratulated the Deputy Governor of Bayelsa State, Peter Akpe, on the occasion of his birthday, describing him as a committed leader whose service continues to positively impact governance and community development.
In a statement issued on Tuesday by the SWAN Chairman, Mrs. Timinepre Ohia, and the Secretary, Mr. Patrick Ndubuisi, the association praised Dr. Akpe for his dedication to the progress of the state and his support for youth-focused initiatives.
The association noted that the Deputy Governor has demonstrated a strong commitment to policies that promote development and improve the welfare of the people of Bayelsa State.
SWAN further commended Dr. Akpe for his humility and accessibility in public service, stating that his leadership style reflects a deep passion for service and inclusive governance.
According to the association, sports remain a vital tool for youth engagement, social cohesion, and talent discovery, adding that the present administration has shown encouraging attention to the development of the sector.
The body expressed optimism that the Deputy Governor would continue to support initiatives that promote sports development and empower young people across the state.
SWAN also prayed for good health, wisdom, and many more years of impactful service for Dr. Akpe as he continues to contribute to the growth and development of Bayelsa State and Nigeria.
