The Rivers State House of Assembly on Monday confirmed five commissioner nominees and rejected four other nominees during plenary.
Those confirmed by the Assembly include Mr. Tonye Bellgam, Professor Temple Nwofor, Dr. Peters Nwagor, Mr. Lekue Kenneth, and Sir Amairigha Edward Hart.
The lawmakers also reject the confirmation of four nominees, including; Professor Datonye Alasia, Mrs. Charity Deemua, Tamuno Williams, and Otonye TKD Amachree.
Governor Siminalayi Fubara, had few weeks ago forwarded the names of nine nominees to the house for confirmation, after the state executive council was dissolved by the governor.
The new appointments followed the peace brokered by President Bola Tinubu, after long period of political crisis in the state.
