Nwajiuba Declares Presidential Bid On ADC PlatformBy Our Reporter

Former Minister of State for Education and former federal lawmaker, Chukwuemeka Nwajiuba, has officially joined the presidential race on the platform of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), signaling his intention to lead Nigeria.

Nwajiuba, a lawyer called to the Nigerian Bar in 1989, brings decades of experience in public service to the contest. He served two terms in the House of Representatives and previously chaired the Board of Trustees of the Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFund), giving him exposure to both legislative and administrative governance.

In a statement issued by his media team, Nwajiuba said his decision to seek the presidency is anchored on the urgent need for leadership driven by competence, practical insight, and credible policy direction. He stressed that Nigeria requires leaders who prioritize results, experience, and professionalism rather than political rhetoric.

Explaining his motivation, the former minister noted that the nation’s social and economic challenges require leaders with deep understanding of governance, fiscal management, and consensus-building. He added that his years of involvement in policymaking across different tiers of government have equipped him to address these issues effectively.

Observers say his campaign is likely to focus on education reform, economic stability, and rebuilding public trust in government institutions. His entry on the ADC platform is also expected to strengthen the visibility of alternative political parties and widen the range of options available to voters.

Nwajiuba’s declaration further expands the growing field of presidential hopefuls ahead of the next general election, as national attention continues to shift toward leadership quality, experience, and inclusive governance.
