Bayelsa Police Arrest Officers Over Tricycle Assault VideoThe Bayelsa State Police Command has condemned the alleged assault of a tricycle rider by police officers, following the circulation of a viral video on social media showing the incident.

In a statement issued in Yenagoa, the Commissioner of Police, CP Iyamah Daniel Edebor, described the officers’ actions as unacceptable and a clear violation of professional policing standards and human rights. He emphasized that the Command maintains zero tolerance for brutality, unprofessional conduct and abuse of citizens.

According to the Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Musa Mohammed Anipr, the officers identified in the video have been arrested, and disciplinary procedures have commenced in line with the Police Act and other extant regulations.

CP Edebor reaffirmed the Command’s commitment to safeguarding the rights and safety of residents while ensuring lawful, accountable and professional policing across Bayelsa State. He also assured the public that anyone found culpable after investigations would face appropriate sanctions.

The Police Command urged members of the public to continue to cooperate with law enforcement agencies and report any acts of misconduct, as the leadership remains determined to build public trust and uphold the rule of law in the state.
