Activist VeryDarkMan Alleges Plot Against His Life…Rejects Security Protection Despite Reported Threats

Nigerian social activist and online commentator VeryDarkMan (VDM) has alleged that security operatives warned him of a coordinated plot against his life shortly after he arrived in an unnamed foreign country. In a new statement shared on social media, the activist recounted a tense encounter in which security personnel confiscated his passport, questioned him, and informed him of intelligence suggesting an imminent threat to his safety.

According to VDM, the incident occurred the moment he stepped into the country. Security operatives reportedly approached him without explanation, took his passport, and led him into their office—a move that initially raised fears that he had violated an entry requirement or faced legal trouble.

“When they took my passport, I was worried. I kept asking why, but they didn’t respond,” he said. Inside the office, he was reportedly told that intercepted communications indicated individuals had been dispatched to harm him. The operatives, he claimed, described the situation as “volatile” and urged him to consider immediate protective measures.

VDM said the officers refused to disclose who was behind the alleged threat, only stating that it originated from a group rather than a single individual. After returning his passport, the operatives allegedly offered him a choice of state-backed security options, including the police, military, or intelligence services.

However, the controversial activist declined all proposals for protection.

“They asked who I wanted—the police, the army, or the DSS. I told them no one. I will never rely on security protection. The day I leave this world is the day I leave,” he stated, insisting that he is “at peace” even if the threat were to materialize.

The alleged development has sparked concern among supporters, many of whom have urged him to reconsider his stance for safety reasons. Critics, on the other hand, question the details of the account and have called for verification.

As of now, neither Nigerian authorities nor foreign security agencies have publicly commented on the activist’s claims. VDM, known for his outspoken criticism of public figures and institutions, maintains that he will continue his advocacy work despite the reported warnings.
