Ogbuku Dissociates Self from Repor
The Managing Director of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), Chief Samuel Ogbuku (PhD), has distanced himself from a recent media report alleging that Bayelsa State Governor, Senator Douye Diri, was linked to his purported arrest.
In a statement issued on Friday by his Special Assistant on Media, Dr Willie Etim, Ogbuku described the report as false, misleading, and mischievous, emphasizing that he has no rift with Governor Diri.
He condemned in strong terms the publication allegedly attributed to a former Deputy National Publicity Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC), which suggested friction between him and the governor. Ogbuku maintained that there is no rivalry within the APC family in Bayelsa State, urging the public to disregard such divisive insinuations.
The NDDC boss further clarified that any comments or opinions expressed by individuals on political issues in Bayelsa should be seen as personal opinions and not reflective of his views or position.
“The attempt to link the governor to political controversies or rumours of arrest is both misleading, mischievous, and unnecessary,” the statement noted.
Dr Etim, on behalf of the NDDC Managing Director, also apologized to Governor Diri for any embarrassment the publications may have caused and appealed to party members and the public to exercise restraint in public commentary, particularly when such remarks could mislead the public or misrepresent facts.
