Rivers State Governor Swears In New SSG, Barr. Benibo Anabraba

Rivers State Governor, Sir Siminalayi Fubara, has charged the newly appointed Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Barrister Benibo Anabraba, to uphold integrity, serve with honour, and safeguard the collective interests of the state.

Speaking during the swearing-in ceremony held at the Government House, Port Harcourt, Governor Fubara described the appointment as both a privilege and a call to duty.

“Guard that office with honour. Discharge your duties with respect. Protect the interests of Rivers State. When you leave, let it be with honour,” the Governor admonished.

He emphasized that true leadership is defined not by power or position but by service and responsibility.

Governor Fubara expressed confidence in Anabraba’s competence and experience, citing his previous roles as Minority Leader in the Rivers State House of Assembly and Commissioner for Lands and Housing.

“We are coming from a difficult period. We must reassure our people that we mean well — especially now that peace has returned to our State,” Fubara added.

The new SSG, Barrister Benibo Anabraba, is expected to play a key role in consolidating the administration’s efforts to sustain peace and drive development across Rivers State.
