Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan Returns to Plenary After Brief AbsenceSenator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, representing Kogi Central Senatorial District under the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), on Tuesday made a return to plenary at the National Assembly, marking her first official appearance after a brief period away from legislative sessions.

Her return was greeted with warm applause and visible excitement from colleagues across party lines, reflecting the cordial relationship she has maintained since her election to the 10th Senate. The session, presided over by Senate President Godswill Akpabio, resumed with Akpoti-Uduaghan taking her seat among other lawmakers as proceedings commenced.

Speaking briefly to journalists after plenary, the Kogi lawmaker expressed gratitude to her constituents and supporters for their unwavering encouragement and prayers during her absence. She reaffirmed her commitment to effective representation, noting that her legislative agenda remains focused on improving infrastructure, women empowerment, and industrial development in Kogi Central.

“I am happy to be back to continue the work I was elected to do — to give my people a strong voice and ensure that Kogi Central gets its fair share of national development,” she said. “We have many bills and motions in progress, and I look forward to pushing them to conclusion.”

Senator Akpoti-Uduaghan, known for her advocacy on social justice, gender inclusion, and transparency in governance, has been one of the most vocal female lawmakers in the current Senate. Her legislative interventions have covered areas such as economic diversification, local industry revitalization, and healthcare access for women and children.

Political observers see her return as a boost for PDP’s presence in the Senate, especially as the National Assembly moves into a crucial phase of budgetary and oversight activities ahead of the 2026 fiscal year.
